Armenia Shines at European Para-Arm Wrestling Championships with 17 Medals
In a stunning display of strength and skill, Armenia secured third place at the 28th European Para-Arm Wrestling Championships held in Budapest, clinching a total of 17 medals, including 8 golds.
The Armenian team demonstrated exceptional talent at the championship, finishing with a remarkable tally of 17 medals: 8 gold, 3 silver, and 6 bronze. This achievement not only highlights the prowess of the athletes but also solidifies Armenia’s position in the competitive arena of para-arm wrestling.
One of the standout moments of the tournament was the intense match in the seated 65 kg left-hand category. Armenian competitor Volodya Bazeyan faced off against Moldova’s Nikolay Tikalyuk in what turned out to be a historic encounter. The match lasted an astonishing 45 to 46 minutes, shattering the previous world record of 26 minutes. Although Bazeyan ultimately finished the match with a bronze medal, the bout itself will be remembered for its unprecedented duration.
Additionally, several athletes from the Armenian Heroes Rehabilitation Center participated, further emphasizing the significance of this event for the nation.
