Armenia Shines with Five Medals at 2026 European Wrestling Championships

Armenia’s wrestling team continued its impressive performance at the 2026 European Wrestling Championships in Albania, scoring three more medals on Wednesday to elevate its Greco-Roman medal tally to five.

On Wednesday, Armenia proved its dominance at the 2026 European Wrestling Championships by adding three more medals, bringing the country’s Greco-Roman total to five. Suren Aghajanyan clinched silver in the 60 kg division after a closely contested gold medal match against Serbia’s Georgij Tibilov, where the result was decided on criteria (2-2, VPO1).

Former Olympian Slavik Galstyan further contributed to the medals count by securing a bronze at 67 kg, triumphing over Ukraine’s Oleksandr Hrushyn with a score of 5-3. Gaspar Terteryan also earned bronze in the 72 kg category after edging out his opponent Aliaksandr Liavonchyk on criteria (1-1, VPO1).

These results follow a strong performance on Tuesday, when Malkhas Amoyan won his fifth European title in the 77 kg division, along with Karen Aslanyan’s bronze at 63 kg. The Armenian team continues to showcase its strength and potential on the European stage, demonstrating a bright future for the sport in the country.
