Arman Tsarukyan Lightens the Mood with Humorous Lord Farquaad Comparison Following Topuria’s Loss

In a light-hearted moment following UFC Freedom 250, Armenian lightweight contender Arman Tsarukyan jokingly compared Ilia Topuria to the animated character Lord Farquaad from Shrek, adding humor to the aftermath of Topuria’s first professional MMA loss.

Arman Tsarukyan continues to entertain fans with his playful banter in the wake of Ilia Topuria’s defeat at UFC Freedom 250. After Justin Gaethje delivered Topuria his first career loss, Tsarukyan appeared on The Ariel Helwani Show where he humorously suggested that Topuria might be too small for the lightweight division.

During the interview, Tsarukyan compared Topuria to “the guy from Shrek,” later confirming to Helwani that he was indeed referring to Lord Farquaad. This comparison follows Gaethje’s earlier remarks during their faceoff, where he also likened Topuria to the Shrek villain, injecting some levity into an otherwise serious title fight storyline.

Topuria’s loss, which occurred after his corner stopped the fight in the fourth round due to significant damage, marked a pivotal moment in his career. In a display of sportsmanship, Topuria congratulated Gaethje post-fight and mentioned he had “no excuses” for the outcome of the bout, underscoring the respect that remains between fighters even in defeat.
