Armenian Women’s National Football Team Eliminated from World Cup Qualification

The Armenian Women’s National Football Team’s hopes of qualifying for the Women’s World Cup have come to an end following a 1-1 draw against Kazakhstan, which took place on Friday in Yerevan.

Despite a promising start, the Armenian Women’s National Football Team has been mathematically eliminated from contention for a spot in the Women’s World Cup. The decisive match against Kazakhstan ended in a 1-1 draw, which left Armenia without the necessary points to advance in the qualifiers.

Svetlana Gharagyozyan scored the opening goal for Armenia in the 35th minute, giving her team a brief lead. However, their advantage was short-lived as Kazakhstan equalized with a goal from Amina Bibossynova in the 70th minute. A victory in this match was crucial for Armenia, as it would have kept their hopes alive in League C of the qualifiers.

With the draw, Armenia’s chance to top their group and secure qualification has now closed. The team is scheduled to conclude their qualification campaign on Tuesday in Belarus, where they will aim to end their journey on a positive note despite the setback.
