Colby Covington and Arman Tsarukyan Heat Up Rivalry Ahead of RAF 9 Showdown

As anticipation builds for the upcoming RAF 9 event, Colby Covington has intensified his rivalry with Arman Tsarukyan, criticizing the Armenian wrestler for opting for what he perceives as easier competition in Real American Freestyle.

Colby Covington’s remarks at the RAF 9 press conference have sparked interest in a potential matchup against fellow wrestler Arman Tsarukyan. Covington questioned Tsarukyan’s choice of opponents, suggesting that he is taking the easy route by competing against wrestlers like UFC Hall of Famer Urijah Faber. In April, Tsarukyan showcased his skills at RAF 8, defeating Faber decisively with a technical fall, 13-1, and subsequently called out Covington.

This Saturday, both Covington and Tsarukyan are set to compete at RAF 9, taking place in Arlington, Texas. Tsarukyan will face Keelon “Mugzy” Jimison, while Covington is scheduled to battle former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman in the co-main event. With both fighters on the same card, the stage is set for heightened tensions and potential clashes in the future, should they both emerge victorious this weekend.
