Armenia Women’s Lacrosse Team Sweeps Sixes Friendlies in New Jersey
The Armenian women’s lacrosse team showcased their talent and determination over the weekend, finishing undefeated in a series of Sixes friendlies in New Jersey, winning all three matches as they gear up for the upcoming European Championships.
The Armenia women’s lacrosse team had a remarkable showing in New Jersey, concluding the weekend with a perfect 3-0 record. The team secured victories against Colombia with a score of 15-7, Hong Kong at 11-5, and Poland, winning decisively at 16-5. These matches were part of their preparations for the 2026 European Sixes Lacrosse Championships scheduled to take place in Salou, Spain.
Unlike many teams that participated in the Heritage Cup this year, Armenia opted to focus solely on the Sixes format, aiming to strengthen their skills and strategies ahead of the European Championships. This tournament in Spain is crucial, as it will serve as the qualifying event for the 2027 World Lacrosse Sixes Championships, where five spots for women’s teams from Europe will be contested.
The 2027 World Sixes Championships will then play a pivotal role in determining qualifications for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, where lacrosse will return in the Sixes format. This perfect weekend marks a significant step for Armenia as they continue their journey towards international competition.
