Armenian Weightlifter Aleksandra Grigoryan Nominated for EWF-AIPS Europe Weightlifter of the Year
Aleksandra Grigoryan, a 20-year-old Armenian weightlifter, has been named one of ten nominees for the prestigious 2025 EWF – AIPS Europe Weightlifter of the Year award, highlighting her impressive achievements in the sport.
Grigoryan’s nomination comes on the heels of a successful year, during which she secured a gold medal at the European Junior Championships, a bronze at the World Junior Championships, and a silver medal in the Senior European Championships. Her remarkable performance has not only brought recognition to her but also shone a spotlight on Armenia’s rising prominence in weightlifting internationally.
The EWF and AIPS Europe award recognizes outstanding athletes for their achievements, making Grigoryan one of the youngest competitors in the running. Her dedication and success in competitions reflect the growing potential of the Armenian weightlifting team on the global stage. Alongside nine other athletes, she will compete for the title, which will be awarded based on performances over the past year.
