Armenian Women’s National Football Team Unveils Squad for FIFA World Cup Qualifiers

The Armenian women’s national football team has announced its roster for the opening match of the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifiers, featuring standout players such as LSU goalkeeper Sophine Kevorkian and midfielders Maral Artin and Lara Kazandjian.

As Armenia gears up for its crucial March 3 match against Kazakhstan, the squad will compete in Group C6, which also includes Belarus. To secure a spot in the World Cup, Armenia must win the group and navigate through two playoff rounds.

This announcement follows a successful 2025 campaign, where the team achieved back-to-back victories for only the second time in its history, with notable wins against Liechtenstein and Kazakhstan during the UEFA Nations League. Throughout that year, Armenia earned points in three out of six matches, showcasing promising potential for the upcoming qualifiers.

The roster consists of 22 players, including goalkeepers Alina Poghosyan and Sophine Kevorkian, defenders Svetlana Gharagyozyan, Liana Ghazaryan, and others, along with midfielders Anna Dallakyan and Isabella Mane Nersesyan. The forward lineup includes Tatev Khachatryan and Milena Sayadyan, as the team aims for an impactful campaign in pursuit of World Cup qualification.
