Teen Gymnast Mamikon Khachatryan Wins Silver at World Cup
Nineteen-year-old Armenian gymnast Mamikon Khachatryan has secured a silver medal on the pommel horse at the World Cup in Cottbus, impressively scoring 14.966 and coming just shy of the gold.
Khachatryan, who recently celebrated his 19th birthday, showcased remarkable talent at the FIG World Cup held in Cottbus, Germany. His performance on the pommel horse earned him a silver medal, where he narrowly missed out on first place, with Italy’s Gabriele Targhetta taking home the gold with a score of 15.000.
This latest achievement adds to Khachatryan’s growing accolades in the sport of gymnastics. He previously won a gold medal at the FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Challenge Cup last year and followed up with a silver medal at the 2025 World Championships, confirming his status as one of the promising athletes in the gymnastics community.
In addition to Khachatryan’s impressive finish, his compatriot and teammate, Hamlet Manukyan, also performed in the finals, securing seventh place with a score of 14.166. Khachatryan’s continued success on the international stage highlights the potential of Armenian gymnastics and the athletes rising through the ranks.
