Armenian Boxers Shine at the 2025 World Championships in Dubai

Armenian athletes continue to make a formidable impact at the 2025 World Boxing Championships in Dubai, with multiple boxers advancing to the quarterfinals, showcasing their skills on an international stage.

The 2025 World Boxing Championships have seen a strong performance from Armenian boxers, with seven competitors moving on to the quarterfinals. Leading the charge is Hovhannes Bachkov, an Olympic bronze medalist and four-time World bronze medalist, who secured a decisive victory against a Kyrgyzstani opponent, winning 5-0. Bachkov now prepares to face Belarusian Vadzim Vauchok in a highly anticipated quarterfinal match as he seeks his first World Championship gold medal.

Also advancing is Davit Chaloyan, a 2024 Olympian in the +92 kg category, who continued his winning streak with another 5-0 victory over a competitor from Tajikistan. The success does not stop there; Narek Manasyan (92 kg) achieved a notable TKO win, while Artur Bazeyan (60 kg), Artush Ovannisyan (80 kg), and Baregam Arutyunyan (48 kg) all progressed as well.

In the 48 kg division, Edmond Khudoyan, representing Russia, also made it through to the next round, adding to the competition’s intensity. The performance of these athletes highlights Armenia’s growing talent in the boxing arena as they compete for top honors in Dubai.
