Khabib Nurmagomedov Predicts Arman Tsarukyan’s Victory Over Ilia Topuria in Hypothetical Title Fight
In a recent interview, former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov expressed strong confidence in Arman Tsarukyan’s abilities, predicting that Ilia Topuria would struggle against him in a potential championship bout.
During an interview with Kamil Gadzhiyev, Nurmagomedov analyzed a hypothetical match-up between Tsarukyan and Topuria, emphasizing the advantages Tsarukyan holds. “I don’t see a chance for Topuria,” he stated, elaborating that Tsarukyan’s ability to maintain distance and his striking techniques would pose significant challenges for Topuria. Nurmagomedov noted that Tsarukyan has had time to study Topuria’s fighting style and believes this preparation will give him the upper hand.
Furthermore, Nurmagomedov highlighted Tsarukyan’s wrestling capabilities as a critical factor that would likely lead to Topuria’s defeat. He stated, “Arman can take him down… He can wrestle, armbar, take the back,” underscoring Tsarukyan’s proficiency on the ground. Nurmagomedov concluded that in his opinion, the odds would be in Tsarukyan’s favor at 80-20, asserting that wrestling remains a dominant force in mixed martial arts.
