Arsen Harutyunyan Wins Bronze at 2026 European Wrestling Championships

Armenian wrestler Arsen Harutyunyan added to his medal tally by securing a bronze in the 61 kg category at the 2026 European Wrestling Championships, showcasing his skills in a hard-fought match against Duda Shamela.

Harutyunyan’s performance at the championships held recently marked a significant achievement in his career. In the bronze medal match, he triumphed over Shamela with a score of 3-1, demonstrating his resilience and technical prowess.

Earlier in the tournament, Harutyunyan kicked off his campaign with a solid victory against Turkey’s Emrah Ormanoglu. He continued his impressive run by defeating Ukraine’s Kamil Kerymov in the quarterfinals, advancing further in the competition. After a setback against Zavur Uguev, the eventual finalist, in the semifinals, he quickly regrouped to secure the bronze.

This latest achievement contributes to Harutyunyan’s esteemed reputation as one of Armenia’s leading wrestlers on the continental stage, further solidifying his legacy as he aims for future success in international competitions.
