Armenia Aiming for Double Gold at U23 European Wrestling Championships
Armenia has a promising chance to capture two gold medals at the U23 European Wrestling Championships, as both Aramayis Harutyunyan and Samvel Terteryan have advanced to the finals in their weight categories.
The U23 European Wrestling Championships are heating up, with Armenia poised for success on Saturday. Aramayis Harutyunyan, competing in the 130 kg category, has reached the finals following a series of impressive performances. He began his journey with a decisive victory against an Austrian wrestler, followed by a shocking upset over the top-seeded competitor from Russia in the quarterfinals. He then secured his spot in the finals by defeating a Ukrainian grappler in the semifinals.
In the 77 kg category, Samvel Terteryan has also made his mark. Terteryan earned his place in the championship match by overcoming tough competition, which included a notable semifinal victory against a Moldovan wrestler. Prior to that, he showcased his skills by winning matches against opponents from Ukraine and Hungary.
Both athletes will compete for gold in their respective finals on Saturday in Serbia, marking a significant opportunity for Armenia in the wrestling arena.
