Crescenta Valley Armenian Falcons Triumph in CIF State Tournament Opener

The Crescenta Valley Armenian Falcons continue their successful season, having recently claimed the CIF-Southern Section title and advancing in the CIF State Tournament with a narrow victory over La Costa Canyon.

In a thrilling display of determination, the Crescenta Valley Armenian Falcons edged out La Costa Canyon, 67–65, in their first game of the CIF State Tournament. This exciting contest concluded with a dramatic finish, allowing the Falcons to secure their place in the second round of the Division II bracket, where they will face Rosary Academy on Thursday night.

The team, showcasing a strong roster with eight Armenian players, demonstrated exceptional teamwork and skill throughout the match. Key performances came from Anik Nortikyan, who led the Falcons with 14 points, while Kelin Shajanian contributed 13 points to the triumph. Notably, Ava Gharib, a member of the Armenian national team, added another ten points, playing a pivotal role in the team’s success.

The Crescenta Valley Falcons have built a robust reputation this season, and their latest win underscores their potential as they continue their tournament journey. Their next challenge awaits as they prepare to take on Rosary Academy, aiming for further advancement in the CIF State Tournament.
