Katlyn Chookagian Defeats Amanda Ribas In Tightly Contested UFC Bout
Katlyn Chookagian proved she is still the women to beat for whoever wants a title shot against Valentino Shevchenko.
In a wild back-and-forth bout it was Chookagian who ultimately got her hand raised. She was the far more effective striker throughout the three rounds and that seemed to make the difference. Ribas stayed patient and was able to secure a takedown in each round.
The third round saw both women throwing with reckless abandon to get a knockout. Two judges scored the contest 29-28 in favor of Chookagian, and one judge scored it 29-28 in favor of Ribas.

With the win, Chookagian improves to 18-4, while extending her win streak to four. She has now surpassed Shevchenko for most wins in the division. Chookagian has her sights set on a rematch against Shevchenko since the last time she was defeated at UFC 247 in February of 2020.
