UFC 268 Results: Melsik Baghdasaryan Wins Second UFC Fight Via Unanimous Decision

Melsik Baghdasaryan didn’t bring the house down like he did in his UFC debut when he won via knockout, but he still got the W.

The Armenian defeated Bruno Souza at UFC 268 in New York City’s Madison Square Garden via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) to stay undefeated (2-0) in the UFC and improve to 7-1 in his MMA career. Baghdasaryan out-struck Souza 75-46, according to UFC Stats, and stuffed four takedown attempts.

The fight was slower paced and less action-packed than Baghdasaryan’s debut, when he delivered a devastating knockout head kick to Collin Anglin and won the “performance of the night” bonus.

“I feel good but not happy,” Baghdasaryan said after the fight. “But it’s ok, it’s good to win like this, too.”

Souza took the fight on short notice after Baghdasaryan’s original opponent TJ Laramie backed out of the fight due to an infection. Souza failed the make weight and Baghdasaryan was awarded 20 percent of Souza’s purse. Still, the Armenian plans to repay Souza for taking the fight by treating him to dinner in Los Angeles.
