MLS Star Lucas Zelarayan Accepts Invitation To Armenian National Team

Columbus Crew star and former MLS Cup MVP Lucas Zelarayan is finally accepting his invitation to play for the Armenian national team.

The Argentina native announced on the Armenian Football Federation’s official social media page he will be joining Joaquin Caparros’ squad.

Zelarayan has scored 15 goals in 46 MLS matches with the Crew over two seasons and he helped lead them to the MLS Cup in 2020. Prior to that, he spent five seasons for UANL of Liga MX. Zelarayan was invited to play for Armenia in 2018.

Armenia’s next World Cup qualification match is on October 8 in Iceland.
