James Kaprielian Earns Seventh Win Of Season As Oakland Tops San Francisco

James Kaprielian delivered another solid outing on the mound on Friday as the Oakland Athletics defeated the San Francisco Giants, 4-1, in Oakland.

Kaprielian pitched five innings, allowing one earned runs on three hits while striking out four. He notched his seventh win of the season and lowered his season ERA to a respectable 3.25.

Despite the win, Kaprielian was critical of his own performance because of his four walks.

“I think it’s pretty clear to see that it wasn’t my best,” Kaprielian said after the game. “I kind of just grinded it through. I don’t know if I deserved the win, but we got through it. The offense came through and the bullpen did a tremendous job today and kept putting zero after zero.”

With the win, the Athletics remained 2.5 games behind the Houston Astros in the American League West division.
