The Oakland Athletics have hit a setback as the pennant races heat up.

Starting pitcher James Kaprielian has been placed on the 10-day injured list due to a shoulder impingement.

Kaprielian is having a strong first year with the A’s, with a 5-4 record and 3.24 ERA. The California native has 79 strikeouts in 72.1 innings pitched.
