Alina Charaeva of Armenia displayed remarkable tenacity by overcoming a first-set loss to defeat Gabriela Knutson of Czechia in the Valle d’Aosta Ladies Open, advancing to the quarterfinals in Courmayeur, Italy.

Armenia’s Alina Charaeva showcased her resilience by rallying from a set down to defeat Czechia’s Gabriela Knutson 1-6, 6-2, 6-3, securing her advancement to the quarterfinals of the Valle d’Aosta Ladies Open in Courmayeur, Italy.

As the tournament’s No. 2 seed, Charaeva faced a challenging start, but she regained her composure and dominated the subsequent sets, allowing Knutson just five games. This comeback victory followed her impressive first-round win against Italian qualifier Enola Chiesa, where she triumphed 6-4, 6-1 at this WTA 125 event.

At 24 years old, Charaeva is currently ranked No. 100 in the world and is on the hunt for her second WTA 125 singles title this season, having previously won in Midland. She is set to face either seventh-seeded Marina Bassols Ribera from Spain or Russia’s Erika Andreeva in her next match, with a coveted spot in the semifinals at stake.
