Henrikh Mkhitaryan made a significant impact just two minutes after coming off the bench during Inter Milan’s UEFA Champions League match against Shakhtar Donetsk at San Siro on October 21. The Armenian midfielder entered the game in the 75th minute and provided a crucial assist for Carlos Augusto, who scored the only goal of the match in the 77th minute, securing a 1-0 victory for Inter.
Mkhitaryan showcased his skills by keeping the ball in play down the left flank before delivering a precise pass to Augusto. The goal came at a challenging time for Inter, as they were already down to ten men following Alessandro Bastoni’s red card in the 69th minute. This victory marked Inter’s first three points of the Champions League campaign after suffering defeats in their opening two matches.
In addition to his assist, Mkhitaryan reached a personal milestone of 164 appearances in UEFA club competitions, tying with Toni Kroos for joint 13th on the all-time appearances list. His performance against Shakhtar Donetsk not only highlighted his continued relevance in high-stakes matches but also signaled his important role in Inter’s quest for success in this year’s tournament.
