Armenia’s Narek Grigoryan achieved a remarkable feat at the European U20 Weightlifting Championships held in Durrës, Albania, on October 14, 2026. Grigoryan dominated the men’s 75 kg division, securing three gold medals in the snatch, clean and jerk, and overall total.
Grigoryan’s impressive performance included a lift of 146 kg in the snatch and 176 kg in the clean and jerk, culminating in a winning total of 322 kg. His success not only highlights his individual talent but also contributes to Armenia’s growing reputation in the sport of weightlifting.
In a commendable display of competition, fellow Armenian athlete Hovhannes Hovhannisyan finished fourth in the same category with a total lift of 299 kg.
