Six-time Armenian Paralympian Stas Nazaryan is making significant strides in helping wounded veterans of the Artsakh war and other Armenians with disabilities find new opportunities through sports. After losing his legs in the devastating 1988 Spitak earthquake, Nazaryan went on to represent Armenia at both the Summer and Winter Paralympics, competing in various disciplines including sailing, alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, and wheelchair racing.
Currently, through the Armenian Para Athletics Federation, Nazaryan shares his wealth of experience with athletes whose lives have been transformed by war and injury. His training programs not only focus on athletic skills but also aim to help participants build confidence, foster community, and set new personal goals.
Nazaryan’s journey through sports has been a catalyst for his own recovery, and he is committed to providing others with similar opportunities. To support his efforts and the athletes he trains, interested individuals can reach out to @stasnazaryan for information on how to contribute, whether through training, equipment, or competitive opportunities.
