Levon Saribekyan, a talented freshman forward for Longwood University, made a remarkable debut in college soccer by scoring a second-half hat trick in a thrilling 4-3 comeback victory against East Tennessee State on Saturday. Saribekyan’s impressive performance saw him net three goals within just 26 minutes, with strikes occurring in the 59th, 65th, and 85th minutes. His final goal, which came from the penalty spot, not only sealed the win but also marked him as the game-winner for the Lancers.
This victory propelled Longwood to an impressive 5-0 start to the season, representing the program’s best beginning since 1988. It is only the fourth time in school history that the Lancers have achieved a 5-0-or-better record at this stage of the season. Saribekyan’s hat trick is particularly noteworthy as it is the first for Longwood since 2024.
As the team prepares for their next match against James Madison this coming Friday, Saribekyan aims to maintain his scoring streak and contribute further to the Lancers’ strong start in the NCAA soccer season.
