Russian-Armenian forward Nicole Mikaelyan, 13, scored seven goals and added two assists off the bench as Russia’s U-15 women’s national team beat Azerbaijan 13-0 at the UEFA Development Tournament in Shymkent, Kazakhstan.
Mikaelyan entered as a substitute and was directly involved in all nine of Russia’s second-half goals, finding the net in the 47th, 59th, 74th, 76th, 84th, 87th and 90th minutes. The Spartak Moscow youngster had also scored in Russia’s 5-1 victory over Belarus earlier in the tournament, taking her to eight goals across two matches. Despite the scale of the performance, Mikaelyan said it did not represent her personal best. “I’ve already scored nine goals in my career, so seven isn’t my best result,” she told Sport-Express.
