Armenia will face Hungary and Sweden in Group 1 of UEFA qualifying for the 2028 FIFA Futsal World Cup, opening at home against Hungary on October 20.
The Armenian national futsal team now knows the path it must follow to reach the 2028 FIFA Futsal World Cup after being drawn into Group 1 alongside Hungary and Sweden. Armenia begins its campaign at home against Hungary on October 20 and completes the six-match group programme in March 2027.
Group 1 opens on Oct. 15, 2026, when Hungary meet Sweden, followed by Armenia vs. Hungary on Oct. 20, 2026. Sweden host Armenia on Nov. 7, 2026, before Armenia welcome Sweden on Dec. 9, 2026. The group concludes with Sweden vs. Hungary on Feb. 27, 2027, and Hungary vs. Armenia on Mar. 3, 2027.
The 2028 FIFA Futsal World Cup is scheduled for Oct. 7-29, 2028. While the tournament dates are confirmed, FIFA has not yet officially announced the host nation. Europe will be represented by seven teams at the finals, with places decided through UEFA qualifying.
