Armenian Basketball Teams Gear Up for Action This Week on Two Continents

The Armenian men’s and women’s national basketball teams are set for a busy week, competing in key tournaments across Europe and the United States, with hopes of making a significant impact on the international stage.

This week, both the Armenian men’s and women’s national basketball teams will be in action, each competing in crucial matches that could shape the future of Armenian basketball.

The Armenia women’s national team kicks off its campaign at the FIBA Women’s European Championship for Small Countries in Peja, Kosovo. They will face the host nation in their opening match on June 23, followed by a game against Andorra on June 25. The team is looking to build on its recent progress and enhance the visibility of women’s basketball in Armenia.

Simultaneously, the Armenia men’s national basketball team will be competing in Los Angeles. They are scheduled to play a friendly match against Ireland at Cal State LA on June 27. Following this, the team will prepare for the EuroBasket 2029 Qualification round against Norway on July 2. This week is pivotal for both teams as they aim to strengthen their standings in international basketball.
