Eighteen-year-old Armenian karateka Monica Arzumian has made headlines by winning gold in the women’s kumite -61 kg category at the Karate 1 Premier League event held in Rabat, Morocco, marking a significant milestone in her sporting career.

Monica Arzumian, a rising star in the world of karate, has officially claimed the title of Karate 1 Premier League champion. Competing in the women’s kumite -61 kg division, the 18-year-old from France showcased her skills and determination by defeating Morocco’s Sawsane Benchbab with a narrow score of 7-6 in the final match. This victory not only secured her first Premier League medal but also established her as one of the elite competitors in her weight class.

The Karate 1 Premier League is recognized as a premier circuit in the sport, featuring the top-ranked athletes globally. This latest event in Rabat attracted hundreds of participants, all of whom were ranked within the top 100 of the World Karate Federation (WKF) standings.
