Seda Gabrielyan Joins Memphis Women’s Basketball Team

Yerevan native Seda Gabrielyan has officially joined the Memphis women’s basketball team, marking a significant step in her collegiate career and a boost for Armenian representation in NCAA Division I basketball.

Seda Gabrielyan, a talented 6-foot guard from Armenia, has signed with the Memphis Tigers women’s basketball team after starting her college career at New Mexico State. Gabrielyan has made a name for herself on the international stage, recently showcasing her skills at the 2025 FIBA U18 Women’s EuroBasket Division C, where she averaged an impressive 22 points, 15 rebounds, and 5.3 assists per game.

In addition to her success at the youth level, Gabrielyan has also played for the senior national team of Armenia, further cementing her status as one of the top Armenian players in women’s basketball. Her transition to Memphis not only elevates her personal career but also represents a growing presence for Armenian athletes in the NCAA Division I landscape. This move is anticipated to create more opportunities for aspiring Armenian basketball players in the future.
