April Shines for Armenian Sports with Multiple Gold Medals and Honors

In April, Armenian athletes showcased their remarkable talents across various sports, achieving significant victories and accolades that underscore their growing prominence on the international stage.

The month of April proved to be an exceptional period for Armenian sports, with numerous athletes making headlines for their impressive performances. Malkhas Amoyan celebrated his fifth triumph at the European Wrestling Championships, solidifying his status among the wrestling elite.

In basketball, Brian Goorjian secured his seventh championship title as head coach in Australia’s National Basketball League, furthering his legacy in the sport. Basketball fan Gary Chivichyan was recognized by the LA Clippers during Armenian Heritage Night, celebrating cultural contributions to the game.

Gymnast Artur Davtyan added to his accolades with a gold medal in vault at the FIG World Cup, while fellow gymnast Hamlet Manukyan continued his ascent, winning consecutive gold medals at the same event. Boxer Nikolai Terteryan maintained his winning streak, now 2-0 as a professional, following a knockout victory.

April also saw Arman Tsarukyan honored at Los Angeles City Hall before achieving victory against UFC Hall of Famer Urijah Faber at RAF 8. Closing the month, Armenia’s weightlifting team excelled at the European Championships, capturing three gold medals and a total of eight medals.
