Armenian Wrestlers Shine at European Championships with Eight Medals

The Armenian national wrestling team concluded a successful campaign at the European Wrestling Championships, securing a total of eight medals, including one gold, one silver, and six bronze across various events.

Armenia’s impressive performance at the European Wrestling Championships highlighted the country’s strength in both Greco-Roman and freestyle wrestling disciplines. Leading the charge was Malkhas Amoyan, who clinched a gold medal in the 77 kg Greco-Roman category, solidifying his status as one of the top wrestlers in Europe.

In addition to Amoyan’s success, Suren Aghajanyan earned silver in the 60 kg Greco-Roman event, while five others brought home bronze medals. Slavik Galstyan (67 kg), Gaspar Terteryan (72 kg), and Karen Aslanyan (63 kg) showcased their skills in Greco-Roman wrestling, contributing significantly to the team’s medal tally.

On the freestyle side, Arsen Harutyunyan (61 kg), Manvel Khndzrtsyan (57 kg), and Vazgen Tevanyan (65 kg) added three bronze medals, marking a noteworthy achievement for Armenia’s representatives. This strong showing leaves Armenia with a total of eight podium finishes, reaffirming its status as a top competitor in European wrestling.

The collective effort of the Armenian wrestlers not only demonstrates their talent and dedication but also brings recognition to the nation’s longstanding wrestling tradition.
