FIG World Championships: Tina Garabedian, Simon Senecal Shine To Advance To Free Dance Final

Tina Garabedian and Simon Senecal had the performance of their lives Friday in Montpellier, France.

A month after they finished 18th in the ice dancing competition at the 2022 Winter Olympics, the Armenian ice dancing duo scored a 68.5 in the rhythm dance portion of the ice dancing event at the 2022 FIG World Figure Skating Championships. The score placed them in 14th out of 31 competitors — their best placing ever at a World Championship or Olympic event — as they advanced to the free dance final Saturday night.

Their 18th place finish at the Olympics was their highest-placing at a world event and they’ll look to improve on that Saturday.
