Dan Hooker On Arman Tsarukyan: “I Got That Boy Chasing Me Around The Playground”

Dan Hooker and Arman Tsarukyan have a highly-publicized spat on social media, but the New Zealand native isn’t quite ready to take their internet war into the octagon.

Following his victory over Nasrat Haqparast at UFC 266 on Saturday, Hooker was asked about who he would like to face next. The No. 6-ranked UFC lightweight talked about getting a top-five opponent like Beneil Dariush over Tsarukyan, who is coming off a highlight-reel win last weekend against Christos Giagos.

“I already got that fight,” Hooker told reporters regarding a potential bout against Tsarukyan. “Why do I need to ask for something I already have? I already got him holding on to my pocket. I already got that boy chasing me around the playground. Ain’t no point in asking for something you already got.”

Tsarukyan called out Hooker following his victory last week, but it appears Hooker’s sights are set on the top five following his win.

The Armenian did also express interest in fighting former lightweight champion Tony Ferguson. Ferguson is coming off three consecutive losses since holding the belt, but is still ranked in the top 10.
