Olympic Freestyle Wrestling: Arsen Harutyunyan Makes Abrupt Exit In 57KG Tournament
Arsen Harutyunyan entered the 2020 Summer Olympics as one of the favorites in the 57kg freestyle wrestling tournament after having won the silver medal at the 2020 Individual World Cup in Belgrade.
But the Armenian’s quest for gold came to an abrupt end on Wednesday morning in Tokyo after he lost 6-1 to Mongolia’s Erdenebatyn Bekhbayar in the Round of 16 in the 57kg bracket.
The 21-year-old from Masis, Armenia won the 2021 Olympic Qualification Tournament and was victorious in the 2019 European Championships in Bucharest.
