Tokyo 2020: Levon Aghasyan replaces Kristina Alvertsian as Armenia’s lone track and Field Olympic Participant
Levon Aghasyan is a last-minute replacement in the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo for Armenia.
Aghasyan replaces Kristina Alvertsian, who was scheduled to participate in the women’s 100 m dash next week. Alvertsian did not make the trip to Tokyo.
Aghasyan will participate in the men’s triple jump competition. This is the 26-year-old’s second Olympics after he competed in the 2016 games in Rio de Janeiro. He did not qualify for the final round that year.
The Kapan native won gold in the 2013 European Junior Championships.
